4 Stars Which Scent Can You Tolerate Better?
Light perfume or cat urine? I’ve tried many brands of litter, including the natural corn husk kind. I’ve found that few have effective odor control, especially if you have to place the litter pan in a small space.

In my San Francisco apartment, I never noticed an odor coming from the litter pan. I think that was because my bathroom there had an exhaust fan. Well, the bathroom in my Chicago apartment doesn’t. It does have a window, but it’s too cold in January to open it. The litter pan has been reeking. I replaced all of the scoopable litter in the pan and sterilized it with bleach, which didn’t help. I even put one of my large room sized air purifiers in the bathroom.

I have asthma, sinusitis, and general allergy problems, including an allergy to perfumes. I’ve even had to get off of public buses because of perfume odors. I take Zyrtec to keep my cat. And I don’t have a problem with the scent coming from this product. I tolerate the scent of cat urine much worse. This product is highly recommended.

I love this litter. It does a great job. There is not a strong scent and my cats love it. My litter boxes are in a small space and it helps a lot. Especially now that there is more than one kitten in the house.

1 Star Warning! It’s scented!
As soon as I poured this stuff in the litterbox, my nose was assaulted by a very strong perfumey odor. There was nothing on the outside of the package to indicate that this was scented litter. I called the company and was told that all their cat litter is scented with a “cucumber-melon” fragrance.

My nasal pasages felt like they were burning, so I ran right out and bought another brand. This was the first time I tried Tidy-Cat and it will definitely be the last. If it smelled that strong to me, imagine how the cat must have felt. However, just to be fair I will also say that I am somewhat sensitive to perfumed products.
